Every year in Victoria, the Salon Melbourne Expo generates great excitement among beauty professionals and spray tanners. The expo is always a great opportunity for salon owners take advantage of TechnoTan’s 2-for-1 show specials, and our sales proved they certainly didn’t let the opportunity go to waste.
This year, about 8000 people went through the doors, and most of them passed by the TechnoTan stand to see what was new, what was on special or simply making use of the chance to meet our regional representatives.
While some Expo visitors complained that the event did not meet up to their expectations, we were happy to meet up with our clients, make new deals and we even saw increased sales from last year. In fact, we averaged a sale every three minutes. Not bad, considering the show had a strong hair focus.
Sometimes I just stood back and listened to what people had to say about TechnoTan, and I’m happy to report that all the comments were positive and inspirational. Plus the feedback we received on the new inflatable tanning booth was very positive, and our pre orders exceeded our expectations.
It takes a massive team effort to get the TechnoTan show on the road, from the office staff arranging accommodation, transport and logistics, to the warehouse crew, shipping containers filled with stock, banners and video screens. We had twelve people manning the stand, and it took two days to set up, two days on show and another to make sure everything is shipped to the correct city for the next big show.
Next up is a small get together with beauty professionals in Mandurah, WA, and then it is the Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo on the 3rd and 4th of May.
